Meet the 2025 Louisville Slugger Kryo Fastpitch Softball Bat

See the technology driving Louisville Slugger’s latest fastpitch softball innovation.

Engineered for every type of hitter – from contact-oriented slappers to middle-of-the-order power threats, the 2025 Kryo Fastpitch Bat from Louisville Slugger delivers what players crave: incredible performance, an unbelievable sound and an unmatched feel.

The secret? An all-new GO-EX1 Barrel System that pairs a composite gapped wall barrel design and vibration-dampening VTX Connection System with a patented XPND End Cap that expands the sweet spot out further toward the end of the bat, delivering improved performance.

The Louisville Slugger Kryo will appear in multiple sizes across four distinct weight drops – (-11), (-10), (-9) and (-8) – ensuring there is a size and weight for any hitter in the batting order.

When given the opportunity to swing Kryo for the first time, Louisville Slugger athlete Daniel Gibson Whorton said the bat helps create hard contact while still feeling good through the swing.

“Kryo has a smooth pop to me,” Gibson-Whorton said. “It is something that feels really good to come off the bat. It’s nice and easy through the zone, felt really good on the hands and I’m really excited about it.”

GO-EX1 Barrel System

Courtesy of high-performing gapped wall composite construction and a durable internal disc system, Kryo’s GO-EX1 Barrel delivers incredible performance and feel from the first swing.

Janae Jefferson, a standout for USA softball and the Texas Smoke professional softball team, said Kryo offered immediate results in her first round of batting practice.

“The ball was jumping off the bat immediately,” Jefferson said. “It felt effortless while I was swinging, so I immediately fell in love with it.”

Louisville Slugger engineers created the all-new GO-EX1 Barrel System to work flawlessly with the XPND End Cap – resulting in the largest sweet spot ever seen on a Louisville Slugger fastpitch bat. The end cap, formed with a lightweight and durable blend of composite materials, features a patented design that creates a pivot for the barrel to float on to improve performance.

VTX Connection System

The Louisville Slugger Kryo features a two-piece composite construction, using a VTX Connection System to pair the GO-EX1 Barrel System with a composite handle. When a player makes contact, the VTX Connection System allows for independent movement between the barrel and handle. This results in a best-in-class feel and less vibration in the hands.

Kryo’s distinct weight drops each feature their own distinct feel. While lighter (-11) models are easy-swinging for slap hitters, heavier models like the (-9) and (-8) offer a stiffer swing optimized for elite power hitters. All models offer a balanced swing weight to help players maximize barrel control.

Louisville Slugger athlete and former Arizona State standout catcher Sashel Palacios raved about Kryo’s feel and sound after taking an initial round of batting practice.

“I love the pop and the feel of the bat,” Palacios said. “I feel like the sound matches exactly what it’s bringing when I step up to the plate.”

Who Should Swing Kryo?

Since Kryo is available in multiple lengths across (-11), (-10), (-9) and (-8) weight drops, nearly every high school, travel ball and college softball player can find a model to match their swing. The balanced swing weight of Kryo makes it easy to barrel up pitches, whether you’re a slap hitter swinging the lightweight Kryo (-11) or a cleanup hitter clearing the bases with a Kryo (-8).
