What Size Fastpitch Softball Glove Should I Use?
There are a few factors that determine what glove you should use, including your position, age, sport and preference. These are typical sizes and a great starting point but ultimately, the size of your glove comes down to what is most comfortable for you. Due to the larger softball being used, Fastpitch softball gloves for both infield and outfield feature a larger pattern in comparison to baseball gloves. But, similar to youth gloves, a lot of models will feature a smaller wrist opening and tighter finger stalls to accommodate a female athlete's hand.

These gloves range in size from 31 inches to 34 inches. This isn't because they are three times the size of a normal glove, but rather because these mitts are measured by their circumference rather than top to bottom. Youth are typically 31" and Adult are 32.5" and up. Due to how thick the padding can be, the pocket on a 32.5" and 34" can be about the same size. Youth gloves are recommended for younger players who have not stopped growing and are likely to outgrow their glove sooner rather than later. The age range of youth players is 12 years old and under. Because of the wide range in age, the sizes are going to have a larger range too. How is a glove measured? Fielders gloves and first base mitts are measured by starting at the top of the index finger of the glove down the finger along the inside of the pocket and then out to the heal of the glove. Lay the tape measure across the palm of the glove, so that it folds across and into the indenture, down to the heel of the glove. A catcher's mitt is measured by the circumference.

Awesome Glove
I bought this for my daughter who is playing travel softball. I was hesitant at first due to the price, but after seeing it in person it was clearly much higher quality than other gloves. It’s basically game ready and leaves just enough break in to the user for a perfect fit. She is a utility player and this glove suits infield and outfield play as well. She absolutely loves it, and I know it will last. Plus it is American made. Spend the money, it’s worth it if you value your gear.

I've had many a glove in my life before and since my championship winning little league team decades ago, in the 70's but during a recent trip to Goetz Bros I decided on trying a good ol' American made glove. With memories of my dad and baseball in my youth, I had my sights set on Nokona and sure enough there where a few there. After trying on two or three I happened upon the X2 Elite and immediately fell in love. It literally "fits like a glove"! I quickly noticed it becomes an extension of your hand unlike most bargain buy gloves you find today. The leather is soft and supple and hugs your hand, ******* it in the pocket with a firm assurance of control. My hand feel like it's melding with the glove. My R brand glove on the other hand is always shifting and makes me feel like it's sliding off. I'm always messing with it. Not this glove! I can actually concentrate on the game while having my hand in any position without the feel of it sliding off. Break in period? With this particular glove there is no break in period. You can jump in a game or practice right away and it feels like it's an old glove that's been well taken care of with Nokona's amazing blend of glove conditioner. This is by far THE best glove I've had in my 50 years. Very glad I was able to find this gem. It'll be a proud member of the family I can hand down to my own little leaguers as they grow. My daughter has been needing a new glove for a few years now but just couldn't part with it. We have been searching for the perfect glove to take its place and we have found it with this glove! She is a 17 yr old pitcher and 3rd baseman and has fallen in love with this glove. It came game ready and she hasn't missed a beat! Thanks for making such a high quality glove.

I bought this glove for my 11 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. The glove fits nicely on her hand and is very light. The leather is soft and already came conditioned. An older girl / adult will be able to play with this glove within a few days. A younger kid (like my 11 year old) will require about two weeks of break-in before she is comfortable using it in a game.
